11/30/1868 Douglas Co, IL. He purchased 40 acres from the railroadfor $12/acre. The property was located at S2 R09E T14N. His currentresidence was not listed in the sale records.

1870 Douglas Co, IL. The census taker recorded his occupation asfarmer with real estate worth $1000, no personal property. He andSarah had only 1 daughter at home and the school teacher, SusanRomack, 18, lived with them and possibly came from OH with the family.

1880 Hindsboro Twp, Douglas Co, IL. In that census his occupationwas "Huckster" and only daughter, Ida, was at home with him and Sarah.
