Residences & events:

1860 Dolson Twp, Clark Co, IL. He was the only Chilcote living inthe county while the rest of the family were in Edgar. At census timehe was a farm laborer with only personal property valued at $200. Heand Rebecca had 1 child.

5/30/1868 Douglas Co, IL. He purchased 40 acres for $10/acre fromthe railroad. It was located at S2 R09E T14N, the same location ashis father and brother, Ben. The transaction did not include hiscurrent residence.

8/31/1868 Same location. He bought another 40 acres, this time for$11/acre.

6/30/1870 Adding to his estate, he purchased yet another 40 acres atthe same coordinates as before for $11/acre.

1870 Bowdre Twp, Douglas Co, IL. At census time he was a farmerwithout property. He and his wife had 3 children and a farm laborer,Dow Dalton, 18, living with them. His father was the only otherChilcote in the township but there were several in the county.

1880 Same residence as above. The family was counted for the censuswith all the same members as last time. His occupation was stillfarmer.
