2/23/1786 His claim is found in Loyalist Settlements 1783-1789,having been heard at Halifax on that date by Dundas. In it he sworethat he was born in England, came to American 40 years ago and settledin Sussex Do, West Jersey and lived there in 1775.

He was a Justice of the Peace under the British Government.

The report goes on to detail his property, both real and personal,that was confiscated and sold for 5,580 pounds, New Jersy Currency.His participation with the Brititsh forces in 1776, is detail andvarious certificates and 2 sworn statements including one by son,Abraham, are included.

1783 Novia Scotia He went as a Loyalists and settled 2 miles east ofLawrencetown. Son, Abraham settled in Shelburn, NS but the name isnow extinct there.
