1787 Nelson Co, KY. Living within the bounds of "Cap. Cox's Company", he and brothers, William and John were listed in tax records that year. In the same area were the "McMachan" families of James and John. Enoch had 1 tithable, specifics unknown.
1788 Nelson Co, KY. Apparently tax lines shifted leaving Enoch the only Berry and no McMahans in the area to be taxed. Enoch's tax was still 1 tithable.
1790 Enoch; brothers, George, and William; and Richard and James "McMachen" now lived within the "Bounds of Capt. McDonals & Capt. McFauls Companies. Enoch's assets had grown to 2 tithables.
1792 At tax time Enoch's family included only 1 male over 21 (himself), he had 100 acres, 5 horses and 18 cattle. George and William lived in the same district as did Enoch's in-laws, Richard and John McMahan.
1793 His estate included 115 acres, 5 horses and 15 cattle. He was still the only male over age 21. George and Williams were still in the area.
1818 White Co, IL. The census taker recorded Enoch there but isolated from other verified family. Son, Enoch Jr, was also there but living among the Shipleys and "Mahan" families.
1820 White Co, IL. He was still there and the family included 2 males over 21 and 8 other whites. He and brother, Joel, who lived 3 doors down, were the only Berrys left but the Ooleys (widowed wife of Enoch Jr) were still in the same county but were not close neighbors.
If he died in KY rather than IL he must have been moved back nearer family who could take care of him in his last days.

1820 Fox River Twp, White Co, IL, where the census taker found him with a new family. There were besides himself 5 other members in the house....Elizabeth and 4 step-children. Next door was Henry Ooley and 3 doors down were his ex-in-laws, the Shipleys. Farther down on the other side were Enoch and Joel Berry.
1818 White Co, IL. At the state's first census there were 2 Wooley (Ooley?) families. In the same neighborhood was Enoch Berry, James Shipley (likely the family of his first wife) and Alexander Mahan (relationship yet unestablished but could be a McMahan). Also living in the same county was another Enoch Berry.
Sangamon Co, IL. He probably followed the Berry families but the exact date is unknown.

5/2/1835 Sangamon Co, IL. John and William Purvis were among the names mentioned in the file on the estate of Barlet Haley who died intestate. Their relationship to deceased and reason for being named not stated but they were probably purchasers at the estate sale.
1840 Sangamon Co, IL. Again his family was counted there. Living in the same county was
Henry Ooley but no Thomas.1850 There was a John Ooley in Green Co MO and one in Montgomery Co, AR, both states of Berry migrations but it is unknown which, if either, if this John. If Elizabeth died in IA in 1847, he most likely would have been there.
9/1/1852 From the Wisconsisn Land records is an item with the names of John Ooley and Elihu H Noyes, both local Moultrie/Coles Co, IL. names, in the remarks column. It was a cash sale of 40 acres patented by John H Harper and located at S14 T4N R4E.
1860 A John J Ooley was still in Green Co, MO.
