8/31/1868 Same location. He bought another 40 acres, this time for $11/acre.
6/30/1870 Adding to his estate, he purchased yet another 40 acres at the same coordinates as before for $11/acre.
1870 Bowdre Twp, Douglas Co, IL. At census time he was a farmer without property. He and his wife had 3 children and a farm laborer, Dow Dalton, 18, living with them. His father was the only other Chilcote in the township but there were several in the county.
1880 Same residence as above. The family was counted for the census with all the same members as last time. His occupation was still farmer.

If so, perhaps it was Malinda living 2 doors down from brother, Hethcole, in the 1860 Clark Co, IL census along with husband, William Beale, daughter, Sarah C, 2, and 2 older Campbell children.
