9/1862 Chatham, Sangamon Co, IL. Receiving a furlough, he returned home only to desert and never return to his unit. It is unknown if he suffered any consequences as a result.

  F i Amy P PURVIS was born on 5 Feb 1912. She died on 23 Jul 1914 in Moultrie Co, IL. She was buried in Jonathan Creek Cem, Moultrie Co, IL.

She was buried between cousins, Enoch and Owen Purvis, her parents'

George Washington PURVIS [Parents] was born on 4 Apr 1827 in Sangamon Co, IL. He died on 17 Mar 1908 in Sullivan, Moultrie Co, IL. He was buried in Greenhill Cem, Sullivan, Moultrie Co, IL. He married Martha Jane Chaplin Solomon on 17 Feb 1848 in Moultrie Co, IL, by Wm Purvis, the groom's uncle.

1876 Piatt Co, IL, near Voorhees Station. He bought a farm there about 5 miles south of Bement.

1877 Hammond, IL. Having sold the farm, he bought a hotel and moved.

Spring 1880 Davis City, IA. Moving west after having lost his wife about 2 yrs prior.

1884 Blue Hill, Neb. He and son, Owen, were still on the move again.

1887 Guthrie, OK. Several of the children joined him on this migration. He was a farmer again there.

1905 Sullivan, Moultrie Co, IL. At the request of several of the children who had remained behind, he returned home.

George probably belongs to a first wife or else he was illegitimate, being born 2 yrs before George and Mary were married.

Martha Jane Chaplin Solomon was born in 1829 in KY. She died in 1852. She married George Washington PURVIS on 17 Feb 1848 in Moultrie Co, IL, by Wm Purvis, the groom's uncle.

George remarried in December, 1852.
