He served with the Marines from 1943 to 1947 and spent 21 months in the South Pacific during WWII.
He was "Elder Emeritus" at the First Christian Church in Mattoon, IL, after 45 years of service. He was also a member of the Mattoon High School Boosters Club and coached Little League Baseball. He was an avid golfer as well.
The funeral was held at 10:30 on Tuesday morning at the Mitchell Jerdan Funeral Home with Rev Robert C Clark officiating.
